2020 was a strange year for everyone, including me, so imagine my surprise when I found myself inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame! Here’s the announcement:
The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame today announced the museum’s Hall of Fame Class of 2020. This distinguished lineup is composed of individuals with a diverse range of accomplishments … from Hollywood fame, to racing championships, to business success. Honorees this year have supported veterans and the elderly, advocated for motorcyclists’ rights, and have shown artistic talent on canvas as well as on two wheels.
Between 1978 and 1984, Dave Mackie set over 60 National Records and was five-time National Champion in some very tough competitive classes, racing against all comers. Dave Mackie is the only man in DRAGBIKE® history to deliver the Stock Eliminator Championship to Harley-Davidson, and was the first man into the 10’s with a stock displacement engine.
